Outreach Project at Prk. Bitus: Making a Difference
On April 28, 2024, the Kiwanis Club of SarGen Illustris, in partnership with Big Heart GenSan, Synergy GenSan, and Jesus Is Alive (JIA) GenSan and Alabel churches, brought smiles and joy to the tribal children of the B’laan community in Prk. Bitus, Alabel, Sarangani Province. At 3 p.m., the combined efforts of KC of SarGen Illustris, Big Heart GenSan, Synergy GenSan, and religious volunteers created another glorious chapter of community outreach.
A Collaborative Effort for Positive Change
This event celebrated the first anniversary of the JIA K Kids as co-partners and volunteers of Kiwanis International Division 6A. With their help and the support of numerous other volunteers, the outreach program provided vital assistance to the community.
Providing Support and Happiness
A hundred tribal children and community members were blessed with food packs, school bags, and slippers, perfectly timed to replace their old ones. This gesture brought back big smiles to their faces, symbolizing hope and happiness.
In addition, three boxes of Manna Rice were delivered to JIA Alabel volunteers and religious workers, supporting a three-month feeding program beginning the following Sunday. This initiative will closely monitor weight gains and improvements among the B’laan children.
A Program of Giving and Gratitude
The program began with spiritual and religious activities to welcome partners, volunteers, and children. Food packs and surprising freebies were then distributed to uplift the spirits of the community members.
